Health Benefits and CBD Oil applications.

CBD is gaining popularity as a therapeutic cannabinoid and is considered much more practical than THC, its psychoactive equivalent.

With the rise of research into the human endocannabinoid system, CBD may be more important than previously thought. The endocannabinoid system is composed of receptors located in certain cells throughout the human body. Cannabinoids, including CBD, bind to these receptors and can regulate important physiological processes, from memory to the sensation of pain.

What can CBD help with?

ANXIETY

CBD has already been studied in relative depth, and seems to offer important anxiolytic effects. In fact, this cannabinoid is now considered an effective substitute for drugs commonly used to treat anxiety that have been used for a very long time but that give serious side effects and risk of abuse or even lethal overdose.

A scientific review "Cannabidiol, a component of Cannabis sativa as an anxiolytic drug" was intended to explore the application of CBD as an anxiolytic drug and its mechanism of action. The authors identified that anxiolytic effects were observed in both animal and human subjects.

The authors concluded that, "future clinical trials involving patients with different anxiety disorders are justified, especially panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, social anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress disorders. The therapeutic window of CBD and the precise mechanisms involved in its anxiolytic action have not yet been determined. "

ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION

Other additional studies have proposed a possible application of CBD as medication for generalized social anxiety disorder, a form of anxiety that is augmented by interactions in social environments.

A study published in the Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology showed that CBD can help with said medical condition. The researchers administered 600mg of CBD to a group of subjects with generalized anxiety disorder whom, however, had never received treatment in the past. The participants participated in a simulation of a speech in public, to generate an environment that would very likely aggravate their state.

The authors found that "pre-treatment with CBD significantly reduced anxiety, cognitive decline, and discomfort, significantly reducing alertness in their speech."

At this point, it is difficult to deny the legitimate potential of CBD as a mediator in anxiety.

CANCER

Cancer is a serious disease and one of the main causes of mortality in Western countries. Unleashed by both genetic and environmental factors, the advancement of cancer is often catalyzed by damaged DNA, proliferation and uncontrolled cell mutation, which leads to tumor development. Conventional treatments for cancer are extremely aggressive with the organism, with radiation and chemotherapy being the most common procedures to treat the disease in many Western hospitals.

Cannabis has been gaining recognition as a potential treatment for cancer with very few side effects. Multiple cannabinoids produced by the plant have shown antitumor activity, and CBD is one of them.

A study on "cannabidiol as a potential cancer treatment", published by the Journal of the British Pharmacological Society, discusses the possible role of cannabinoids as a treatment for cancer. The authors postulate that the endocannabinoid system may be relevant in this case, concluding that, "collectively, the non-psychoactive cannabinoid derived from the plant, CBD, exhibits pro-apoptotic and antiproliferative actions in different types of tumors and may also exert anti-inflammatory properties. migratory, anti-invasive, anti-metastatic and perhaps anti-angiogenic. Based on these results, evidence suggests that CBD is a potent inhibitor of both the development and spread of cancer. "

CBD AND CEREBRAL TUMORS

Further research has explored the potential of CBD in the treatment of brain tumors, specifically in glioma cells, a cancer that originates in the brain or spine. An article "Antitumor effects of cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, in human glioma cell lines" explored these possible functions.

The researchers stated, "In conclusion, non-psychoactive CBD (Hemp derived CBD) was able to produce significant antitumor activity both in vitro and in vivo, suggesting a possible application of CBD as an antineoplastic agent (acting to stop or inhibit the tumor)."

These are just some of the studies that analyze the role of CBD in the treatment of cancer, since THC has already been used for some time to help cancer patients cope with the side effects of the disease and its treatments .

EPILEPSY

Another medical section in which CBD has some really promising qualities is the treatment of certain forms of epilepsy. For CBD, this has meant great publicity in the international media. In addition, its effects have inspired advances in legislation. Desperate parents whose children suffer a rare form of the disease, called Dravet syndrome, have shared their success in reducing seizures and other symptoms. Recently, more videos have appeared on the internet showing the incredible potential of CBD to stop and suppress violent convulsions.

Scientists have explored this connection in depth, obtaining positive results. One of these studies, published in the journal Epilepsy and Behavior, consisted of a survey of parents who administered CBD to their children with epilepsy.

The survey included 19 children, of whom 13 had Dravet syndrome. The remaining six were diagnosed with various forms of epilepsy, 4 of them had Doose's syndrome, one Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and the last idiopathic epilepsy. The study showed that 84% of children experienced a reduction in the frequency of seizures. 11% reported total eradication of seizures, 42% reported a reduction of more than 80% in the number of seizures experienced, and 32% confirmed a reduction of 25% to 60%. Other beneficial effects that were observed included a greater state of alertness, better mood and better quality of sleep.
